Great Elephant Mirror

The family bonds are strong within an elephant community. They have been seen to help young and wounded elephants over obstacles. They have been observed to carry dead elephants and even bury them under branches; individuals have been seen standing by the bones of dead elephants for hours and also to carry bones around. Not only do these animals show compassion but they also seem to show loyalty and affection.
This beautiful mirror has a mother and baby elephant in ceramic Bisque.  It measure approximately 9 inches tall and is of very good quality.

This is a true deal in the elephant world!

ELEPHANT LORE

Even today the elephant has a prominent place in Buddhism unlike other animals. It is the only animal possessed of grace to carry the sacred reliquary containing the 'Danta-dhatu' (Tooth-relic) of the Buddha, in the annual Esala Perahera in Kandy. All Buddhist temples follow the same procedure in choosing an elephant to carry the relics in procession, as no major Buddhist procession is complete without at least a single elephant, ornately caparisoned to walk majestically through the streets.
