The Oriental dragon. With its serpentine form, the Oriental dragon bears little resemblance to its European cousin. For one thing, the Oriental dragon has no wings, but usually possesses an elaborate mane and drooping mustache. Much like the European dragon, however, the Oriental dragon was seen as a symbol of powerful forces, and often adorned the palace and person of the Emperor himself.
