Hand Painted RED Bird Jade Eggs from the Orient
Jade is a quality stone with fine texture, elegant
luster and slick surface. It can be divided into soft jade and hard jade. In
Chinese people's eyes, jade defies classification; its culture infuses the
Chinese national spirit.
Dating from the late Paleolithic Age, Chinese ancestors discovered this special
stone and used it in daily life. When social classes appeared, jade became the
symbol of power, social status, wealth and theocracy. In the Han Dynasty (206BC
- 220), the crafting of jade articles reached an unparalleled level in the world
and the requirements for jade were more and more strict. People learned to
appreciate choice jade. Jade from Hetian in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, as
white as suet, was considered supreme jade. A king could only get a piece of
extremely beautiful jade by paying as many as the value of 15 cities!
These eggs are not real jade, but faux jade at a fraction of the price!
